Kootathil Oruthan Music Review

Journalist turned filmmaker Gnanavel makes his debut directorial with this film ‘Kootathil Oruthan’ featuring Ashok Selvan and Priya Anand in lead roles. Nivas K Prasanna has composed music for this film.

The One Theme

Play this track to someone without revealing the music director’s name and they would strongly tell, it’s the comeback of Yuvan Shankar Raja. Predominantly, Nivas K Prasanna has showed up so much of maturity into this composing. It’s really a tremendous one.

Innum Enna Solla
Singer: Haricharan

This is one of the best songs that comes well packaged with simple yet convincing package of musical composing, singing and well synchronized sound. Haricharan always sound the same with his voice and even this time doesn’t miss to grab our attention.

Nee Indri
Singers: MM Manasi

This one stands out to be a commendable track from Nivas K Prasanna. His way of blending the voice of MM Manasi and the instrumental components are beautifully done. The interludes we hear are really splendiferous. Not to miss the rhythmic accompaniments that is milder yet appealing. MM Manasi is the ultimate showstopper out here.

Or Naal Kadhal
Singer: Sathya Prakash

The tune seems to be a reprised version of yet another track in the album and Sathya Prakash gets his best over the score, but then the instrumentals are slightly dominating that it hinders the prominence of his voice out there.

Maatrangal Ondre Dhaan
Singer: Nivas K Prasanna

The song comes out mild with effortless factor, where it looks like a song placed for the moment, where the protagonist or someone is pain of loss over life. The lines are appreciable, though the musical quotients are mediocre. It might be appropriate with situations in the screenplay.

Enda Ippadi
Singer: SPB and Emcee Gonzalez

Nivas has tried something unique that gives an impact from rare combination of singers. It all happened before few years where SPB was onboard to remix ‘Engeyum Eppodhum’ with rapper for Polladhavan. But this one is a little different apart. The song is about the funny pathos of a man who has no hopes in life and the rap portions involving Emcee are perfect.

The happiness of pursuit

This might look like a short and crisp signature theme, when you look upon it as title on album track list, but there is much more into this for the depth of emotions are stupendous. The way Nivas K Prasanna has tried blending the beauty of pianos and chimes together along with mild stringed chords arrests your senses.

As on whole, ‘Kootathil Oruvan’ has some appreciable work from Nivas K Prasanna and the songs would definitely go up to a decent score as the time brews up.
