Mollywood audiences back out from big hero films and bring ‘Finals’ as winner

This doesn’t happen anywhere and it’s a signature made scenario only in Malayalam cinema industry, where the audiences don’t go crazy over star power, but are always inclined to the movies that are content-driven. This Onam had three big releases – Mohanlal’s Ittymaani Made in China followed by Prithviraj’s Brothers Day and Nivin Pauly-Nayanthara starrer ‘Love Action Drama’. Generally, it is obvious that one among them at the least would fare well based on the star power that these actors enjoy.

But surprisingly, the Malayalam audiences have pushed all these movies to the back seat, by bringing a low-budgeted content driven movie ‘Finals’ as No.1. The film is based on the inspiring story of a girl from poor family background, who wants to make it bigger as a cyclist by bringing a Gold medal from Olympics to India and how her father-mentor gives his best in training her.
