Saithan is partially adapted from Sujatha’s novel ‘Aaah’. The film showcases the story of a software engineer who is suffering from a particular mental disorder. His head keeps on ringing with a non familiar voice which leads few unexpected happenings in his life. Film further revolves around his journey to identify the real identity of a girl named Jayalakshmi who is the reason behind his behaviour. And also he travels to his past birth to unleash the unknown mysteries in his life.

Vijay Antony’s script selection can be pointed as the key to his success. He has delivered a very matured performance. He has single handedly carried the film in his shoulder from start to end. There is no frame without his screen presence. His acting skills have been improved a lot.

Saithan Movie Review

Arunthathi Nair plays the female lead. She has done her part well with no complaints. Her Expressions are too good. Y Gee Mahendran plays an important role as Vijay Antony’s boss. Aadukalam Murugadoss scores with his one liners. Kitty, Chaaru Hasan, and Meera Krishnan are other notable characters.

Music is composed by Vijay Antony himself, like his previous films. Back ground music with the ‘Jayalakshmi theme’ is a killer, it hunts us throughout the film. Romantic number ’Ladukio…’ is an average song. ‘Yedetho..’ falls at the right place. Theme music plays a major role to hold the audience to the script.

Saithan Movie Review

Technically the film is good with neat cinematography from Pradeep Kalipurayath. Film duration is around 2 hrs. Great editing work by Senthil Raj. Story Credit has been give to Writer Sujatha in the title cards. The Title card display is innovative with scary ambience silhouettes.

Film is directed by Pradeep Krishnamoorthy. Its not an easy task to adapt a story from novel and frame the screenplay. He has succeeded in the first half, the psychological factor and thrill elements are well maintained till interval. Post interval the screenplay begins with full punch, but sadly ends up in a normal note. At the end director was confused on how to finish the movie, which gives a clumpsy end.

Major highlights of the film is Vijay Antony’s performance and the gripping first half.

BGM boosts the film a level higher. Climax is the weakest portion with routine commercial villainism and draggy narration. Our 120 bucks is worth for the first half itself. Go and enjoy a different experience.
