Bahubali (The Beginning) is touted to be the most expensive project in Indian cinema. Film is not extracted from any epics like Mahabaratha or Ramayana. Its an original epic script written by the Rajamouli and writers. Fight for the kingdom is the one line base story. The content which we have seen in “n” number of old films, but what makes this movie fresh is the grand presentation.

Prabhas in Baahubali
Prabhas in Baahubali

Prabhas as Shivu and Bahubali. As Shivu he has very limited scope to express. But as Bahubali, he looks majestic and delivers a neat performance. Prabhas looks like a real king with perfect costumes. He did some acting during the climax war sequence, romantic scenes with Tamanna and the scenes with Satyaraj. Action sequences are meant for him to show his six packs.

Anushka and Tamanna are the two heroines, unfortunately Anushka plays a mother role with limited screen presence and poor makeup. She hardly gets 4 scenes in the film. Milky beauty Tamanna has both action and love scenes, she is glamorous and did a beautiful performance. She is also left out from post interval. This film is going to stay as one of her memorable role.

Other main characters include Satrayaj, Rana Daggubati, Nasser, Rohini and Ramya Krishnan. Those who steal the show are definitely Satyaraj and Ramya Krishnan. After Padayappa, Ramya Krishnan gets a meaty role and she did 100% justice. Kattapa role is a cake walk for actor like Satyaraj, the way he emotes is brilliant, a powerful role and its another feather in his cap.

Rana gets a little shades of negative role along with Nasser, Both didn’t have much scope to perform in the first half. Nasser as usual nailed it in the scenes with his casual body language. Rana looks awesome and fits perfectly in the role. Film has cameo by Sudeep and Rajamouli himself. Climax opponent war gang leader and the different language he speaks is really catchy.

Music is composed by M.M.Keeravani, he has done an excellent re-recording and BGM. His music boosts the film to next level. Each and every bit of scene shows his magical music. Songs are just average, infact unwanted songs are injected in the film. Couple of romantic numbers are there, which fails to impress. Only song which stays in mind is the ‘Irulkonda..’ song. Sound mixing deserves special applause.

Making of Baahubali
Making of Baahubali

Technically the film is too brilliant. What an awesome cinematography by Senthil Kumar. Each and every frame looks grand and beautiful. Either the Athirapalli falls or the war sequence, his camera lens were playing like anything. Art direction needs a special mention. Sets look great. CG work is another plus. Editing was a little absurd in the beginning, but climax war sequence shows the editors hard work. Stunt choreography is marvelous.

The captain of this Bahubali ship is S.S.Rajamouli. Though there is nothing new in the content, the way he presented the film is outstanding. Romantic portions are poetic and fresh. Climax war sequence shows his brilliance. Second half lifts the movie. Interval block and surprising finishing touch is superb. Kudos to S.S Rajamouli Garu for giving us this excellent product.

Highlights of the film are; the opening scene, the climax 45 mins war sequence, Athirapalli falls view, Bahubali flashback portion, Performance from Satyaraj and Ramya Krishnan, interval block, end scene and Action sequences. Film ends with Bahubali (The conclusion – 2016) giving a glimpse for the sequel. Grab your tickets and witness this Magical film.
