GVPrakash Kumar, comes again with a full fledged rural tracks in the upcoming movie Komban starring Karthi and Lakshmi menon. Lets see the review here.

1. Kambikara Vetti
Singers : V.M. Mahalingam | Ananthu
Lyrics : R.Thanikkodi

Folk song with assorted mix of all rural instruments. A kind of intro song with celebration music from thavil, nadhaswaram, percussions, trumpets in a right proportion. Towards the end, the brass section followed by the rhythmic vocals and at the end, the high speed make it a grand ending.

2. Appappa
Singers : GV Prakash Kumar | Shereya Ghoshal
Lyrics : R.Thanikkodi

Beginning with a mild humming, slow tunes, keyboard synthesizer enough to say a slow melody to follow in a traditional tunes. Lyrics are not poetic and just a straight narration which is a needed element for a rural romance melody. Miruthangam interlude with flute rhythm, a highlight of the song. For shereya this may be a simple song to say at least and she sang just like that and GV rocks too.

3.Karuppu Nerathazhagi
Singers : Velmurugan | Maalavika Sundar
Lyrics : Mahalingam

A fast phased gaana song which has a mix of high and low pitch catchy tunes. Another hit voice in the Gaana world which is very powerful and bold enough. Nadhaswaram at the middle to slow down the song for a break which is nice. Maalavika’s humming at times make you to ask for more.

4. Mella Valanjadhu
Singers : Madhu Balakrishnan
Lyrics : R.Thannikkodi

A sad solo song from madhu which is very dry to hear. A light composition from GV with mild Ghatam gives the voice to project at front. Violin at the middle of the song, awesome rhythm to hear which is too soulful. Only Madhu saves the song, you can say it as simple.

5. A Celebration
Theme Music

A theme music with all traditional music instruments which excel in each with its unique specialities and nadhaswaram takes the show fully to its core, on the whole it falls in the ordinary track.
