During a press meet held in Hyderabad on August 11, Anirudh was asked about the meaning of the phrase. He replied: “While working on the teaser, I was just messing around a bit crazily. In the studio, I often hum or mumble random things. That’s how I sang ‘Alelela Polema, Alelela Polema le’ and sent it to director Lokesh. I thought he would ask, ‘What is this? What does it mean?’ But instead, he said, ‘This is my favorite part of the teaser.’ That’s the kind of vibe we were in — ‘Alelela Polema’ was just gibberish. Later, I looked it up and found that in Greek, it means ‘We are ready for war.’ But when I sang it, I had no idea about that meaning — I was just singing it for fun.”
