Dhanush’s ‘Kara’ Locked for April 30, 2026 Release

Published:

Dhanush‘s upcoming action entertainer Kara has been officially slated for worldwide theatrical release on April 30, 2026.

Producer Ishari K. Ganesh of Vels Film International announced the date during the recent Vels Festival (Nakshatra 2026). The Thursday slot cleverly aligns with the Labour Day long weekend on May 1, setting the stage for a powerful opening.

Directed by Vignesh Raja (Por Thozhil fame), Kara is a rustic action thriller set in Ramanathapuram. Dhanush essays Karasaami, a cotton farmer pulled into a violent world of redemption and revenge. Early looks reveal his gritty, intense avatar, paired with the striking tagline: “Sometimes, staying dangerous is the only way to stay alive.”

The film pairs Dhanush with Mamitha Baiju as the female lead, supported by a stellar ensemble including Jayaram, K.S. Ravikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunas, and Prithvi Pandiarajan.

GV Prakash Kumar handles the music, promising soul-stirring tracks for the emotionally charged narrative. Produced by Vels Film International in association with Think Studios, the project (earlier known as #D54) was titled on Pongal.

With the first single announcement coming soon, fan excitement is soaring under #KaraFromApril30. This summer could see Dhanush deliver another blockbuster!
