Vetrimaaran’s Arasan with Silambarasan TR Starts Filming in Kovilpatti

The much-anticipated film Arasan, set in the celebrated universe of Vada Chennai, has officially commenced shooting. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vetri Maaran, the project features Silambarasan TR in the lead role and is produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu’s V Creations.

The shoot began in Kovilpatti during the first week of December and is scheduled to continue until the end of the month. Key sequences are currently being filmed against the raw, realistic backdrop that has become Vetri Maaran’s signature style. Adding to the excitement, Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi, who collaborated with the director in the Viduthalai franchise, is expected to join the production shortly.

A major highlight of Arasan is the collaboration between Rockstar Anirudh, Silambarasan TR, and Vetri Maaran – marking their first project together. The film’s promo, released on Anirudh’s birthday in October, received an overwhelming response and set the stage for heightened anticipation among fans well before filming began.
