Story

The narrative opens with an animated prologue about a cursed king. In the present day, a young man (Kavin), scarred by his father’s (Rao Ramesh) infidelity, rejects love and relationships. His life takes a turn when a dancer (Preethi Asrani) hands him a mysterious book bearing his name. From then on, he acquires an unusual ability – or perhaps a curse – to foresee the future of couples who kiss. Matters complicate when he foresees the shocking fate of his own girlfriend.

Positives and Negatives

Director Sathish blends fantasy and romance with light-hearted comedy. The premise is intriguing, yet the execution shows unevenness. The opening animated flashback feels underwhelming and disconnects viewers from the core plot. A live-action treatment here would have created stronger impact, similar to the way grandeur elevates films like Magadheera.

The first half caters to teens with comedy tracks, especially those involving VTV Ganesh and RJ Vijay, though these often feel detached from the main story. The repetitive kissing-prediction sequences verge on cliché, but the narrative gains weight at interval. The second half works better, offering emotional depth and a stronger conflict.

Performances

Kavin delivers a convincing transformation in the latter half, and Preethi Asrani offers a striking contrast to her role in Ayodhi, leaving a promising mark. Devayani’s matured portrayal in the pre-climax scene adds dignity. Rao Ramesh, though limited, performs well. Shakthi shows potential, while VTV Ganesh and RJ Vijay provide comic relief in parts.

Technical Aspects

Jen Martin’s background score enhances several key moments, and the cinematography lends freshness to the rom-com tone. However, the over-reliance on animated flashback remains a core drawback.
