As the standoff over hike in the remuneration between FEFSI workers and Tamil Film Producers Council continues, the shooting of all films have been called off starting from today. The post production work of various projects which are gearing up for release have also been put on hold.
However, there were rumors since morning that the shooting of Ajith’s Thala 56 is going on in Kolkatta. “It’s not true. Since, both the unions are likely to resolve the issue in a day or two, AM Rathnam has advised to stay in Kolkatta to avoid transportation charges. Also, it would be a tedious task to shift to Kolkatta again in two days. Shooting will resume only after an amicable solution is found,” says a source from the film’s unit.
Directed by Siva, Thala 56 has Ajith, Shruti Haasan and Lakshmi Menon in the lead roles. It has music by Anirudh Ravichander.
