Dhanush & Silambarasan in the Same Cinematic Universe?  

In a move that’s thrilling fans across the Tamil film industry, director Vetrimaaran has officially confirmed his next project with Silambarasan TR in the lead. Titled STR 49 for now, the film is reportedly linked to the Vada Chennai universe — a franchise originally helmed by Vetrimaaran and fronted by Dhanush.

In a recent interview, the acclaimed filmmaker revealed that he had two ideas in hand — one, to expand the world of Vada Chennai, and the other, a standalone script. Since Dhanush owns the rights to Vada Chennai, Vetrimaaran sought his opinion. The actor’s gracious response stunned many:
“Sir, do whatever you’re creatively comfortable with. I’ll talk to my team and give the NOC immediately. I don’t need any money.”

With this blessing, Vetrimaaran is all set to craft a new tale that could potentially connect characters and timelines from the Vada Chennai saga.
