Aaryan Movie Review – Powerful Start followed by passable events

Aaryan featuring Vishnu Vishal and Selvaraghavan in the lead roles is a psychological mystery thriller. The film is directed by Praveen K. Lets check the Aaryan Movie Review

Synopsis

The dark and ambient thriller opens on a cryptic note — a mysterious stranger (Selvaraghavan) going about his mundane routine inside a secluded house. Moments later, he strides into a live television interview, calmly interrupts the anchor (Shraddha Srinath), and makes a chilling declaration: a murder will occur within the next hour. The revelation shocks everyone further when he announces the victim’s name — his own — before pulling the trigger and ending his life on air.

Before the tragic act, the stranger proclaims that five more murders will follow in the coming days — all orchestrated by him. This unsettling prophecy sets the stage for the entry of the protagonist (Vishnu Vishal), a police officer tasked with uncovering the mystery behind the bizarre chain of events. What begins as an implausible claim soon unravels into a gripping investigation, drawing him deep into a maze of deception, psychological tension, and unpredictable turns.

Analysis

The prologue looks so perfect with the faintest resonance of George Clooney’s ‘Money Monster’, but the similarities abruptly ends there. Well, maybe, a series of murders after the antagonist’s death could hit a similarity of Sherlock Holmes – A Game of Shadows.  But then,  we get to see some unique events that proves our assumptions wrong. 

So what’s the best thing about Aaryan? Director Praveen’s idea thrusts a punch of excitement. The opening sequence stands out instantly. The first few moments of investigation give an appealing impact. The raciness, however, is found only in Ghibran’s musical score. The narrative moves at a slow pace.

Significantly, the interval teases us with some twists. The predictions of the onscreen characters go wrong, adding curiosity. The post-interval portion is supposed to turn the slow-burn thriller into a racy one. Unfortunately, it misses hitting the bull’s-eye.

The fourth murder instills a beam of hope. Yet, the film ends with a climax that feels half-baked. You expect a mysterious, paranormal, or at least a mind-bending twist at the end. Instead, Aaryan becomes a normal, predictable thriller. Selvaraghavan’s character reveals the entire plot right from the beginning.

Aaryan Movie Review Analaysis on Performances

Vishnu Vishal doesn’t get much to score here, and it’s appreciable that he has underplayed, letting Selvaraghavan’s character gleam at its best. As a producer, we need to appreciate his decision. Well, we do his fitness scream out loud in the second half action block. Well, it looks like an odd sequence, and totally a non-synch with main plot, but still, it’s good to see those stunts. Selvaraghavan is the key actor in this movie, and his role is convincingly done. Shraddha Srinath’s character doesn’t leave an impact. The other characters have a limited scope to perform. 

Technical Aspects

Aaryan Movie Review on its technical analysis states Ghibran’s musical score is good, but doesn’t synch with the visual composition. The visuals are maintained with dark tone, and that adds mystery to the ambience. Editing is good. 

The raciness is felt only through the sound, music and technical factors, but lacks the narrative punch. Moreover, the basic plot itself has a flaw, where the reason behind murders doesn’t stick to our minds as a solid one. 

Overall, Aaryan Movie Review analysis – Had the writing be refined in style, adding some unpredictable twists, Aaryan would have been an impactful and convincing thriller. For now, it’s just a passable one that works in places, but not as a whole.
