Is Jayam Ravi paid more than Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, and Karthi in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 1?

Filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 is gearing up for worldwide theatrical release on September 30, 2022 in five different languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The movie based on Kalki’s Ponniyin Selvan novel has an ensemble star-cast comprising Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Riyaaz Khan, Shobitha and many more prominent actors. AR Rahman is composing music for this film, which has 12 songs and among them couple of them ‘Ponni Nadhi’ and ‘Chola Chola’ have already gained good response.

While everything involving the magnum opus of Mani Ratnam has been creating good waves of expectations over the project, here is an interesting buzz. It is buzzed across the movie industry that Jayam Ravi has got the highest salary when compared to the senior actors like Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Parthiban, Prabhu and others. It is said that Jayam Ravi playing the role of Raja Raja Chozhan has more prominence and screen time in both the parts than the other actors.

Well, the trade circles aren’t keen on his remuneration, but are eager to sign him for their upcoming projects as they are pretty sure that being a part of Mani Ratnam school will definitely escalate his career graph.

While the shooting of both the parts of Ponniyin Selvan is already completed, the official announcement pertaining to the PS2 (a) Ponniyin Selvan Part 2 will be revealed after the release of first part.
