K. Manikandan, an Indian filmmaker involved in the Tamil cinema industry, wears multiple hats as a writer, actor, and director.

His journey began with a notable appearance as the runner-up in a popular reality comedy show. Following this, he ventured into radio as a Radio Jockey at an FM channel, while simultaneously lending his voice to numerous films and TV shows through dubbing and voice acting roles.

Manikandan’s writing debut came with “Pizza II: Villa” in 2013, followed by his acting debut in “India Pakistan” (2015). He also played a minor role in “Kadhalum Kadanthu Pogum” (2016) directed by Nalan Kumarasamy. Notably, he portrayed an antagonist in Sri Ganesh’s directorial debut “8 Thottakkal” (2017) alongside M. S. Bhaskar and Lallu. Additionally, he contributed dialogues to Pushar-Gayathri’s “Vikram Vedha” (2017) and appeared as a police constable in the film. His talent caught the eye of director Pa. Ranjith, who cast him in “Kaala” (2018). Manikandan also lent his writing skills to projects like “Viswasam” (2019) and “Thambi” (2019), directed by Siva and Jeethu Joseph, respectively. Further showcasing his versatility, he starred alongside Nivedithaa Sathish in Halitha Shameem’s romantic anthology film “Sillu Karupatti” (2019).

In addition to his various roles, Manikandan ventured into directing with the independent film “Narai Ezhuthum Suyasaritham” (English Title: Endless), where he shared the screen with Delhi Ganesh. The film garnered recognition, being selected for the Bengaluru International Film Festival (2016) in the ‘Indian Cinema Competition’ category and also screened at the 16th New York Indian Film Festival (2016) as one of the four featured films.
