Sakka Podu Podu Raja Music Review

Santhanam-Vaibhavi starrer Sakka Podu Podu Raja has been hitting headlines for many reasons. The film brings together topmost comedians of all times – Santhanam and Vivek together for the first time. Although, they were a part of Suriya’s Singam 2, there wasn’t even a single combination scene together. The film is directed by Santhanam’s close friend-actor Sethuraman and is produced by VTV Ganesh. While there weren’t any music directors coming to compose music, STR offered a surprise making his musical debut with this movie.

The single track titled Kalakku Machaan crooned by Anirudh was recently released.

Song : Kalakku Machan
Music Director : STR
Singer : Anirudh Ravichander
Lyrics : Rokesh

The song is very simple as it carries the musical components of STR in a much neat and uncomplicated style. The percussions over the rhythmic pattern remain the same throughout the song. There are few places, where Anirudh’s rendition slights falls short off his regular paradigm. This could be because of the composing part by STR. But when everyone has been expecting the arrival of STR as music director to bring something, this one doesn’t exceed our expectations. But probably as the time progresses, the song might have an impactful result with the film’s visuals.

Song: Kadhal Devathai
Singer: STR & Yuvan Shankar Raja
Lyrics: Vairamuthu

Santhanam has been getting his best dues of teaming up with STR for Sakka Podu Podu Raja. The young superstar composing music for this film directed by Sethuraman has been getting the best acclaims. Following the first single track ‘Kalakku Machaan’, it is now the much anticipated ‘Kadhal Devathai’ crooned by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

STR seems to have exerted more effort into the song, where he has used his complete focus upon sound synchronization. The way he has computerized the voice of Yuvan Shankar Raja and blending to a classical touch is something really appreciable. Usually music directors would go for the separate versions of normal and remix. But this looks as mix of both, where the last 2 minutes exactly look like a party mix.

STR has even emphasized much on the instrumental part, which has the chord works in complete synch. The guitar we get to hear during the interlude are done very well.

This song will definitely have its impactful output with the visuals.
