Sundar C is better known for his brilliant efforts of copycatting the sequences from several Hollywood movies. In 2014 hit movie ‘Aranmanai’, we could see him replicating the sequences from paranormal activity, The Conjuring and lots more, yes, the action sequences from Sherlock Holmes. This time, he gets far better, half dozen of replications from latest Hollywood horror flicks. Perhaps, Denzel Washington’s The Equalizer stunt sequences seems to have been the fascination of Sundar C here. Of course, he replicates in a blended mode with a new bunch of ensemble star-cast.

If you’re looking up for the film’s synopsis, just refer back the 2014 version of Aranmanai and this one includes some additional characters, but with same story and screenplay.

The film has an ensemble star-cast, but when it comes to performance, it’s just Hansika Motwani standing up to the best. She has exerted a flawless show and not too much dependent on the skin shows too. On the other end, we find Trisha walking in the best glamorous attires, including the over-glamorous bikini shows in the song with Siddarth. Not to miss Poonam Bajwa, who tries her best in skin show, but has some mystery revolving around her character, which sooner winds up before intermission. Siddarth looks doubtful throughout the film and has nothing to deliver. Even his dialogues are limited to couple of pages. Sundar C much alike the first part tries to a savior here, but with addition of surprisal tint towards the pre-climax. Soori doesn’t favour the humorous portions and his episodes with Kovai Sarala and Manobala get too hilarious only by the second half.

Musical score by Hip Hop Tamizha doesn’t help the film anywhere. Except the song ‘Kuchi Mittai’ and ‘Party with the Pei’, nothing was really impressive. Cinematography and editing have nothing to contribute too.

Overall, Aranmanai 2 carries the same old formula of the previous installment and it has nothing special to offer, but proves to be entertaining in few parts.
