Chiyaan Vikram’s Hint! Suriya to don Shankar’s heroic “Velpaari’? 

Over the past few years, the epical book of Su Venkatesan’s Velpaari has been creating sensational buzz. The story presented in weekly basis in Ananda Vikatan magazine, successfully crossed 100 weeks. Later, the story compiled as book by Vikatan Publications has sold more than 1 Lakh copies, thereby outperforming the sales of Ponniyin Selvan. 

Marking this special occasion, a celebratory event was organised, where Superstar Rajinikanth attended it as chief guest. Director Shankar, who has acquired the film rights of this book was also present at the event. Soon after the event, it turned out to be a big buzz online that who’s gonna play the lead role in this movie, which director Shankar says has the potential of becoming an all time classical hit like Avatar and Game of Thrones. 

Significantly, looking back into the interactions of Chiyaan Vikram with press and media during the Ponniyin Selvan 2, he had hinted that Shankar has acquired the rights of Velpaari and is planning to make it with Suriya. Well, it could have been a casual decision at that point of time. Now after Kanguva’s failure, we nee to wait and watch if Suriya would be able to pull it off. More than all, there are no such big investors for Shankar at this point of time as his previous films – Indian 2 and Game Changer bombed in box office. 

Now, if this film is getting materialized, it should be a collaboration of 3-4 production houses or someone like Sun Pictures. 

Let us wait and watch out, how the project is going to progress and if it happens, Director Shankar will definitely bring Pride to Indian Cinema.
