R. Madhavan’s much-awaited biographical drama G.D.N., which chronicles the extraordinary life and legacy of legendary inventor and industrial pioneer G.D. Naidu, has been postponed from its original July 17 release and is now scheduled for a worldwide theatrical debut on August 7.

From the makers of the acclaimed Rocketry, the film — written and directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar — continues to generate tremendous excitement across the country. It is produced by Varghese Moolan, Vijay Moolan, Sarita Madhavan, and R. Madhavan.

The film features a powerhouse ensemble cast led by R. Madhavan in the title role, alongside Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Priyamani, Dushara Vijayan, Vinay Rai, Thambi Ramaiah, Nandalal, TeeJay Arunasalam, Sheela, Karunakaran, Muralidaran, Aditi Balan, Mohan Raman, Kaniha, Ramesh Tilak, Carl Andrew Harte, Richard Bhakti Klein, and several others.

The spectacular trailer, launched at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, received an overwhelming response for its grand visuals and emotional depth. This has significantly heightened anticipation despite the revised release date.

The compelling story of G.D. Naidu — widely celebrated as the “Edison of India” — combined with R. Madhavan’s striking physical transformation into the iconic inventor, the film’s expansive historical canvas, and high production values, have contributed to its strong appeal.

The screenplay of G.D.N. has been jointly penned by director Krishnakumar Ramakumar and R. Madhavan. Aravind Kamalanathan serves as Director of Photography and Creative Producer. The technical crew includes Govind Vasantha (Music Director), Bijith Bala (Editor), Muralidaran (Executive Producer), Hakkim Sulaiman (Production Manager), Mugil (Dialogues), Cyril Kuruvilla (Production Design), Jishad Shamsudeen (Costume Designer), Siddharth Sadashiv (Sound Design & Production Sound Mixing), and Ranjith Ambady (Chief Makeup Artist).

The makers are delighted to confirm the updated worldwide theatrical release on August 7. G.D.N. is poised to celebrate not just the achievements of one of India’s greatest visionaries, but also the indomitable spirit of innovation, ambition, and patriotism that defined his enduring legacy.
