Dhillukku Dhuddu 2 comes straight from Santhanam-Rambhala duo that had earlier delivered a successful film ‘Dhillukku Dhuddu’. Moreover, their combinational spell dates back to the days of ‘Lollu Sabha’, which is still regarded as one of the most celebrated spoof based TV shows. In this film, the premise is completely fresh and different from its first installment. The film features Santhanam as a freewheeling auto driver (Santhanam), who falls in love with a girl Maaya (Shraddha), who has a terrible issue – the ones proposing her are attacked by supernatural forces. Will the protagonist manage to break the chain and unravel the mystery?

Santhanam-Rambhala duo stands out to be an exception

Certainly, there are times when a team wants to encash over the first part’s success and take a piggyback ride with the sequel. To be more specific, this has been a blatant case over the series of sequels that were released in 2018. However, Santhanam-Rambhala duo stands out to be an exception, where they have concentrated on diminishing the flaws in the first part and offer a wholesome entertainer. In fact, they have succeeded in those aspects and given a fresh treatment in writing. Be it Santhanam’s complete changeover in mannerisms, body language and dialogue deliveries or the slapstick comedy episodes, they have been excellently done. The first hour doesn’t look dragging anywhere as the witty one-liners keep us engrossed. With the exact conflict opening up few minutes before the intermission, it travels neatly in the second half followed by fun-filled 30 minutes to climax.

Dhillukku Dhuddu 2 doesn’t settle down merely with its humour aspects, but has managed to considerably score brownie points with the technical aspects too

Dhillukku Dhuddu 2 doesn’t settle down merely with its humour aspects, but has managed to considerably score brownie points with the technical aspects too. Be it Shabir’s musical score or Dipak Kumar Pathy’s cinematography, they have contributed as much as they can towards this film’s technical enhancement.

As on whole, Dhillukku Dhuddu 2 keeps up the promise made by the makers prior to release – Don’t look out for logics and you’ll enjoy this show. In this aspect, the film keeps us engaged with fun and entertainment from beginning till end. While Rambhala has managed to tone down the glamour quotients to ensure that the kids and family audiences enjoy it, he could have avoided few double entendres too or else everything is fine.
