Vijay Sethupathi and this brand name is more than enough to pull audiences into the theatres. In fact, family audiences have become very much fond off his movies and even the general groups feel that there would be something different and special. In Karuppan, if you’re really expecting there could be an exceptional storyline or treatment, then it’s a wrong fact.
Karuppan deals with a very much familiar paradigm of village based story, where it involves family emotions and bonding
Karuppan deals with a very much familiar paradigm of village based story, where it involves family emotions and bonding. But then, what makes it special is Vijay Sethupathi with his screen presence. Even the other characters are very well etched.
To make it so simple for your understanding, what if you’re visiting a village with your friend and you come across two families. Even the antagonistic approach of Bobby Simha has a justification from his perspective, for which you would feel sympathetic. He is seen as a harmless guy, who doesn’t want to hurt a snake, when everyone wants him to kill it. But the unexpected transformation after he loses something close to his heart convinces. In fact, this can be regarded as a difference between his role in Iraivi and herein Karuppan.
Vijay Sethupathi entertains you and gains your sympathy as well.
Vijay Sethupathi entertains you and gains your sympathy as well. He has improvised a lot with his action sequences. There are plenty of humorous sequences, especially with Singam Puli. Tanya Ravichandran might certainly look not befittingly apt for a village girl. But then with her characterization getting in depth portrayal with emotions, she gets better. Pasupathy proves yet again that he is a fantastic actor. Bobby Simha gets a meaty role after a long time. He does his portions well. Singam Puli tickles our funny bones in many places.
Couple of songs by D Imman are commendable and they have been very well shot as well.
There aren’t any minuses in the film. Panneer Selvam having experimented with different genres comes up with a decent family entertainer that will offer a pleasant experience to audiences.
