Megastar Chiranjeevi’s multi-starrer ‘Sye Ra Narasimha Reddy’ offers a wholesome treat with a bigger drama based on the life of a warrior, who was the first one to rise against the British rule. The film has very dramatized the incidents that happened during that period and the team deserves special mention for this.

Getting on with the major positive attributes of this film, it’s the technical grandeur. Amit Trivedi’s musical score is one among them that instantly grabs our attention. In fact, it travels throughout the film like a character enhancing the emotions of each scene to a greater magnitude. The next absolute attention-grabber is the top-notch cinematography by Rathnavelu and art work by Rajeevan. They are the actual reason on how we get commuted to the ancient times.

The first half might look little stretched and slow in few places, but the second hour is totally engaging keeping us so much engrossed

Now it’s all about the powerful characters that Surendar Reddy has crafted. Forget Chiranjeevi, he is of course the major showstopper, but the way, he has sketched the roles of Kichcha Sudeep is outstanding. A true epitome of friendship indeed! The twist involving Jagapathi Babu’s transformation by the end gives an impression of Judas Iscariot in Holy Bible. Of course, every tale of warrior has seen similar instances like how SS Rajamouli said about the origin of Baahubali across the banks of river being similar to Karnan and Moses. The first half might look little stretched and slow in few places, but the second hour is totally engaging keeping us so much engrossed.

Hats off to Chiranjeevi for bringing in so much of energy throughout the film…. Amitabh Bachchan needs special mention for accepting this role despite being a big superstar. Both the female lead roles played by Tamannaah and Nayanthara are neatly written. Kichcha Sudeep as mentioned earlier gets a powerful character whereas Vijay Sethupathi’s role is too limited.

On the whole, ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ deserves a watch for many reasons. The first one being the patriotic warrior, who became the first one to lock horns with British Empire for the sake of freedom and second one for an engaging drama with best technical aspects.
